Quality💁🏻‍♀️ VS Quantity🤑

Hello dear reader!

I’m back with another post about lifestyle changes! Exciting, lol! To be more specific, I will be talking about how sometimes you want to “settle” for a shitty, good paying job. Is it truly worth it? Sure, you have a good pay, but there’s a toxic environment and it’s sucking the life out of you, so… IS IT REALLY WORTH IT??! Is it worth sacrificing happiness, mental and physical health and stability for a couple more dollars? Well, I’m no expert, but I will give you my opinion based on my experiences. Let’s dive into some pros and cons about this topic. Continue reading “Quality💁🏻‍♀️ VS Quantity🤑”

Surviving Hurricane María, pt 2

Hello dear readers! I am back with the sequel to my “Hurricane María” series. And just in time too! Reason being, today marks the 1 year anniversary (09/20/17) of this horrific natural disaster that was hurricane Maria. The event lasted what it seemed like an eternity to us puertoricans that actually lived through this. It’s a very popular, yet controversial topic, as I’m sure we all know about what the current president is saying in regards to the event. There is evidence about the number of deaths that were caused by the disaster so I am not going to start a debate about it, BUT I WILL SAY, that people lost their lives not only during the hurricane, but also as a consequence of Maria. As a consequence of the lack of food, water, power, communications, medicines, personnel, and just basic NEEDS. Sad, seeing how a country that calls themselves “the world’s greatest country” disgraces their OWN people. Sad and shameful.

A quick recap from my first “María” post:

“I still remember that first sight of everything after it was over. The sound of a fallen land. Everyone started walking, trying to open up roads because streets disappeared, there was water, mud, and debris everywhere. We had no power, no cellphone reception, no internet connections, no cleared streets for cars, not a single way of communicating with our loved ones. Our lives had just changed forever and we were just starting to realize that.”

Life in a Cult: My Awakening 👁 , pt 3 (final) I

Greetings readers! 👋🏼 A pleasure to have you here following up on my 3 pt story of my “life in a cult” series. If you haven’t read my first two post, I suggest you go do that first. That way you can have a better understanding of what it’s about.

DISCLAIMER!! —> I am not against ANY religion, I respect all opinions, and I do believe in a God or higher power. I am not trying to talk trash about any religion, I still respect the people who are in this cult, even if they don’t respect me. In their eyes I am now an apostate for talking “bad” about their religion. Apostate means: a person who renounces a religious or political belief or principle. That being said, let’s continue to the final part of this story.

Life In a Cult: My Awakening, pt 2 💀

Greetings, dear readers! I’m back with the second part of my awakening story. So, grab your favorite snack or drink, sit back and brace yourself. There’s still a lot of ground I didn’t cover and will not, because if I did, this post would be a book! Lol. Considering writing a book? Yes, why not?

So last time, we left off at my childhood traumas being created 🙂 . Quick recap, I was a raised in a cult. Brainwashed into believing if I made “outside” friends, or if I celebrated birthdays, Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Valentine’s or just whatever… I was going to die because Jehovah was going to kill me in Armageddon. Don’t get me wrong, that irritated me as a child, but it wasn’t just that; it was so much more than just the “you can’t celebrate” crap. Ah, yes… it’s all coming back to me now. Let’s dive into my teenage years. Continue reading “Life In a Cult: My Awakening, pt 2 💀”

Life in a Cult: My Awakening

This post is going to get very personal, it’s not something I usually talk about, it’s something that has hurt me and in spite of everything it’s made me the person I am today. So it’s very private and difficult for me to talk about, but recently I’ve been doing research and I’ve found that I am a STRONG survivor, and there’s many more like me out there. Many people struggling to break free, struggling to let go and start fresh, empowered and stronger than ever. This is MY AWAKENING STORY.

Since this is a very delicate topic, let’s begin by saying that I respect every faith, every religion and every opinion that exists in this world. We have freedom of will and just as I chose my path, I respect everyone else’s ways. I am not/haven’t been part of any religion/cult for the past 6-7 years now.

Now, to avoid conflict, I will not mention the name of said religion/cult and let’s just leave it to deductions and guesses. I am very anxious writing this, very nervous, as I do not know what consequences this post may have, but I just need to share this part of me, and just maybe help someone who’s going through the same thing. It may take more than one post to get it all out there, we’ll see. Without further ado, let’s take a trip in time, and start this waaaaay back, to about 21 years ago, when I was about 5 years old.  Continue reading “Life in a Cult: My Awakening”

Friends with Benefits?

Ok, this story is 100% real, though the names have been changed for privacy reasons. Let’s call our guy David, and our girl Sofia. Nothing personal with all the Davids and Sofias out there, I just really like the names. (Lol).

~Have you ever tried to take control of a really awkward situation that you put yourself into? If you have, you know the feeling I’m talking about. For example, David and Sofia were both getting out of bad relationships. They liked each other but didn’t want anything serious at the moment. You see, they were both part of abusive relationships, where the partners were possessive and jealous people. They finally got the strength to end it before it grew worse. But let’s start at the beginning. Continue reading “Friends with Benefits?”

Stress does NOT rule your life🤚🏼🚫

🌙 It’s Sunday night, and you have to prep yourself for work Monday. Which means you have to exercise, eat, shower, pluck your eyebrows, style your hair, shave, meal prep for the week, you still want to finish that netflix series you’ve been binging on, feed your cat, help your S.O. with grooming because let’s face it, they need help and only YOU can provide it because you’re Wonder Woman [or Superman]! And, while all of that is going on, you’re thinking about that work drama with your coworkers, UGH! You know what I’m talking about, that thing with the bitch and the suck-up. Then you look at yourself in the mirror and start pointing out flaws, fat and hairs, and honestly, it’s too much! So, finally you’ve had enough frustrations, and end up in a panic attack or not doing anything, which always ends in regret.

Yep. I’ve been there. I think we’ve all been there, have we not?

Well, as I’ve said once before, I’m no professional, but I can give you a few tips that have worked for me and my husband with our financial and other stressful situations. Continue reading “Stress does NOT rule your life🤚🏼🚫”
